Hey everyone!

Last week, we talked about listening to your inner voice and chasing your dreams, even if they take detours. Today, I want to delve deeper into a powerful tool that can make a huge difference in achieving those dreams: your environment.

Remember how I mentioned needing space but discovering that isolation wasn't the answer? Well, a positive environment truly packs a punch!

Let me tell you a story. When I first moved to the US, I was greeted every morning at 6:30 am by the sunshine of the office – the security lady! Despite having over 300 employees, she knew everyone's names and always had a bright smile. You can guess what happened – her positivity was contagious! It chased away my tiredness and instantly put a smile on my face.

That's the power of a positive environment! It can energize you and inspire you to be your best self. In that environment, I felt a surge of energy that I never experienced back home. It hit me so hard that I knew I had to return to the US – and luckily, I landed a dream job in innovation!

This positive environment played a key role in sparking my passion for innovation and travel. At my apartment complex, the fitness trainer actually stopped me one day and offered me to join the free community training program, which is included in my rent !The energy and motivation from the trainer and participants pushed me to my limits and helped me grow.

Back in Europe, creating a digital innovation hub, I met three incredible women through a female business network. Their dreams and ambitions were so inspiring!

These are just a few examples, but they illustrate a crucial point:

the people you surround yourself with matter.

Now, I'm more conscious of cultivating a positive and supportive network.

This network falls into two categories:

  • Safe Harbor: These are my long-term friends and family back north. They're my rock, the people I can completely trust and rely on no matter what. Through thick and thin, they've been there for me, offering unwavering support and a safe space to fall. During tough times like my divorce, their presence was a constant source of strength.

  • Crazy Crew: These are my friends and network connections with wild ideas. They're digital nomads, jetsetters, living their dreams – and they inspire me to chase mine. I share my craziest ideas (and yes, I have a lot!) with them, knowing they'll help me refine them and make them even bigger.

However, before I jump into action with a big idea, I definitely check in with my close friends and family. Their concerns are important to me, and their perspectives can be valuable. But ultimately, if my inner voice is roaring "go for it!" and the risk feels like a thrilling adventure, then I take the leap!

The takeaway from this story? Being aware of the people in your environment is crucial for making your dreams a reality. Sometimes, you might have to create a new environment, but other times, simply shifting your awareness can make a difference.

Let's chat about your dreams! Feeling stuck? Maybe your environment needs a little review. I offer free introductory calls to explore this topic further and help you identify areas for improvement. Just click the link to book yours!

Remember, it wasn't just my environment that held me back – sometimes it's our own self-doubt. Let's overcome those hurdles together and find your wave!
